Hey Chris, I didn't see the isopod eating the actual fruit body, but there was a lot of evidence of insect consumption. There were multiple holes where you could see through the morel into the hollow center, so I imagine the isopod and/or other insects were having their fill. Interestingly, the morels were still there as of yesterday so they weren't devoured in their entirety - just bits and pieces here and there
Thanks for this article on the Morel! It's a favorite of mine. In my own mushroom hunting I've enjoyed discovering just how many wild and bizarre fungi are out there.
