Rad. I just found a good bunch of them nearby, either Foliacea or Frondosa or both (it was wet and cold so I didn't notice what kind of wood they were on): https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/197824086
Yea it's tough to tell the type of wood from the photos. I'd lean hardwood because of all the oak leaves on the ground and the lack of any pine needles, but that's just a hunch.
It's still just nice when you can tell the difference in species from the substrate and don't have to break out a microscope.
